Would you like to get more information about the values and philosophy of Colonial Baptist Church. Have you been thinking about formally joining the body of believers here?
Membership Matters is a 4-session class for adults and teens taught by our senior pastor and offered roughly every quarter (3 consecutive Sundays during our Adult Bible Study hour and one Saturday session). You will have the opportunity to learn more about Colonial Baptist Church's basic beliefs and ministries, and meet members of the pastoral staff.
Anyone is welcome to attend. Attending does not necesitate membership, but anyone desiring to become a member of CBC needs to go through the class. At the end of the 4 sessions, we have a special service dedicated to welcoming new members into the fellowship.
Why is church membership so important?
- It indicates that you accept responsibility for the spiritual health and growth of fellow believers in the family of God (Gal 6:1-2; Eph 4:16; Heb 10:24-25).
- It makes you accountable to mature brothers and sisters in Christ for your walk with God (1 Cor 5:1-4).
- It clearly designates you as one of the flock for which our pastoral team must provide care (Heb 13:17).
- It declares that you are sacrificially committed to a shared vision for doing ministry with the other members of Colonial Baptist Church (Acts 2:42-47).
